Background:
Ran never met her biological father, because her mother and her father were sweethearts but were never married. As he found out that Aoi was pregnant he left her. When Ran was 7 years old she moved with her mother to Republic City. Aoi met Saburo, who has a son Taki who is 5 years younger than Ran, and they married after 2 years. Altough Ran really loves Republic City she often visits the Northern Watertribe.
Taki and Ran often argue about unimportant things but they also love to discover things together (like some dark alleys or sneak into buildings). They are a pretty good team together but would never admit that they like each other.

The symbol on her clothes is not the symbol of the watertribe!
